About Paul
Paul
Chilton was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona. Some of his earliest
memories as a child were of his father turning on his homemade lathe
using tools his father had crafted from planer blades. Paul's father
would turn lamps out of old cedar fence posts and toothpick holders
out of Desert Ironwood. When Paul was very young, eight years old or
so, he helped his father build a two car detached garage with two shops
added on. One shop was for Paul and the other for his dad. Even though
Paul's shop had no heat it wasn't long before he moved his bed in there
to live. Paul lived and played in his shop year round. With tools and
a work bench, he made countless projects while growing up. Paul has
worked with wood in one form of another his entire life. For him, turning
is by far the most satisfying form of woodworking. Paul's love for utilizing
natural wood colors and grain patterns gives expression, warmth and beauty
to each unique piece he creates.
